Be the network you want to see in the world!

As a network of youth concerned about global issues, we have a lot to do. We need you to step up and get involved. Some big conversations are under way this fall: what the US should do to fight global poverty, what we can do to address climate change, how to eliminate nuclear weapons, and more. We're educating students about these issues, cultivating leaders and organizers, and connecting youth to opportunities to speak out and take action. Get involved - whether you know a lot or a little. These are great learning opportunities. We're looking for stellar folks to fill the following positions in our network:

New Media Guru
The New Media Guru will use social media to cultivate the AIDemocracy network, providing an important foundation for our efforts to educate and mobilize youth around global issues. This is a tremendous opportunity for a seasoned organizer looking to deepen his/her online organizing skills. Commitment: 2 hours/week

Artist in Residence
The Artist in Residence will communicate the vision and energy of the AIDemocracy network. His/her work will inspire and energize thousands of student activists across the country. Artist is welcome to use a variety of mediums: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, spoken word, poetry, short story, song, dance, etc. Commitment: varies

Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer will develop visual materials to communicate the vision and energy of the AIDemocracy network. The Designer's work will help inspire and mobilize our national student network. This is a tremendous opportunity for an artist to expand his/her portfolio and experience developing materials for social change. Commitment: varies

Network Builder
The Network Builder will build, cultivate and harness the power of our nation-wide network of students taking action on global issues. The Builder will grow our community, reinforce our story and vision, facilitate communications, empower network leaders, and recruit new network members. This work is dependent on advanced use of online tools and social media. This is a tremendous opportunity for a seasoned organizer looking to deepen his/her organizing skills. Commitment: 2 hours/week

Media Hound
Are you obsessed with the news? Have an interest in student journalism and blogging? Americans for Informed Democracy is currently recruiting Media Hounds to monitor and respond to student conversations on global issues taking place in campus newspapers. Hounds will be assigned a specific issue or regional beat. Commitment: 1-2 hours/week

AIDemocracy chapters organize their peers to host film screenings, teach-ins, lobby visits, campus campaigns and more, to not only learn about but take action on global issues. They foster a sustainable network of student activists on their campus, ready to respond and speak out about global developments that affect us all, and act as part of a national student movement concerned about and taking action on everything from climate change to nuclear weapons to global poverty

Regional Coordinators (RCs) lead member and chapter recruitment in their region; build relationships with students, university and political leaders; and attend regional and national events on behalf of the AIDemocracy network. Note: Only RC positions for the West, Southwest and Rocky Mountains remain open! Commitment: 8-10 hours/month

TO APPLY: Email a resume and statement of interest to opportunities@aidemocracy.org. Please put the name of the position you are applying for in the subject line. POSITIONS OPEN UNTIL FILLED
