The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) is currently recruiting researchers/programme officers to join its police reforms team. The programme works across India, South Asia and East Africa to develop policy and public dialogue to improve policing.
Job Description
Successful candidates will be part of a Delhi based team and be required to: collect, compile, and maintain data on policing: write legal briefs and research papers on aspects of policing based on comparative law and practice drawn from across the world.; document the working of the program; design and develop workshops, build networks and contribute to the strategic planning of the program. The successful candidate will represent CHRI locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2-3 years experience, with strong academic qualifications in law, social sciences, or any other related field; experience in criminal procedure, policing or justice sector reform preferred; excellent English and Hindi communications (speaking, writing and editing) skills are essential along with demonstrably high quality research abilities; word processing, database management, email and internet skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will be self motivated, energetic, and able to work independently toward given deadlines; dedicated to working in the long term toward the reform of the policing system and at ease in a busy multicultural environment.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with education, experience and salary history
