Alliance for Justice’s Washington D.C. office is seeking a law clerk for its Advocacy Programs. Over the course of the summer, the clerk will gain experience working with grassroots organizations, researching nonprofit legal issues including the politicization of attacks on nonprofits (for example: ACORN), knowledge of the legal framework governing nonprofit advocacy and lobbying and insight into the current political atmosphere and its affect on nonprofit advocacy work in America. This is a paid clerkship.

Qualifications:
• Current law student
• Committed to the nonprofit sector and social justice
• Motivated, hardworking, and energetic
• Flexible and willing to take on a variety of assignments
• Experience with word processing, Excel, and PowerPoint (social media
and blogging experience is a plus)
• Strong interest in learning more about the following areas:
nonprofit and grassroots advocacy, public policy and communications
• Available to work a minimum of 3 to 4 days per week.
• Students interning in DC as a requirement for course credit are strongly encouraged to apply.
