Human Rights and Counterterrorism Internship at the ABA Rule of Law Initiative


The ABA Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) is currently seeking an unpaid legal intern for its Asia Division based in Washington, D.C. The intern will support staff in research and legal analysis relating to human rights and counterterrorism, with an emphasis on South Asia. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in human rights, international law, international criminal law or national security. A background in South Asia, with an emphasis on Pakistan, is preferred. The legal internship position is open to second or third year law students or recent graduates interested in promoting the rule of law abroad. Requirements include: excellent research, writing and analytical skills; familiarity with MS Office; and strong commitment to public interest law. ABA ROLI is looking for legal interns who can commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week for 8 weeks. This internship is expected to begin in late spring, and provides a travel stipend.
