International Program Management Intern at Partners Worldwide


General Description:
The intern will work with LEAD Inc, a Partners Worldwide local business affiliate in Liberia. LEAD Inc. is a group of Christian businesspeople that together provide training, mentoring and access to capital to Small and Medium businesses in Liberia. The leadership of the Local Business Affiliate (LBA) LEAD Inc. partners with a Global Business Affiliate (GBA) of Partners Worldwide. The GBA provides international mentoring in specialties, encouragement, accountability, networking and fundraising support for LEAD.
The primary focus of this internship is to assist in the improvement and implementation of LEAD polices through program development.
Tasks:
• Gather narratives and profiles on LBA LEAD Inc. leaders and member businesses.
• Assess the mentoring and training needs of both LBA LEAD Inc. and their member businesses, assisting in training sessions as needed.
• Assist in the loan application and approval process with the LBA and the GBAs.
• Assist in the organizational development and growth of the LBA
• Facilitate the development of the 2011-12 Annual Partnership Agreements.
• Assist in standardizing the monthly and quarterly reports and communication.
• Facilitate/Translate communication between LBA and GBA.
• Assist in coordinating the visits of the GBAs.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Commitment to Christian faith and Business as Ministry.
• Fluent in English and sensitive to adopting other types of English.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English
• Experience in organizational development
• Experience in accounting, marketing, and basic business management.
• Knowledge of and capability to work with; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Skype (or similar telecommunications program) and Loan Reporting Software.
Education and/or Experience:
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Development/Program Development preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of cross-cultural experience
Physical Demands:
• Living conditions with unreliable access to water and electricity
• Stress of travel in a developing region of the country
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Travel as well as weekend and evening work hours may occur, though infrequently.
