Description:
The Haiti Project Associate will support the Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Foundation’s Haiti team on matters related to the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC). This position will collaborate with other Haiti team members and representatives of the IHRC to review project proposals, prepare for various meetings, communicate IHRC initiatives and priorities, and provide general assistance to the COO on IHRC matters. Additional responsibilities may include drafting reports and project summaries, attending IHRC meetings/conference calls, communicating with board members and assisting with IHRC policy and administrative matters.

• Review documents and draft project summaries, reports, correspondence, meeting notes and other documents.
• Attend meetings, communicate goals, plans and project status to the IHRC team and board members and support other Haiti team priorities.
• Other duties as requested by the Foundation.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters Degree, JD, or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in areas such as community development, public policy, law, international relations, international development and/or political science.
• Demonstrated success with complex negotiations and building coalitions; and with reviewing, analyzing and drafting reports, projects proposals/summaries and high level communications.
• Good understanding of current international policy, development, business, and NGO issues.
• Ability to build relationships and consensus and to manage the various interests of stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of international development work, multi-lateral organizations/entities and project development and finance.
• Knowledge of Haitian history, culture and politics.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire understanding and absorb new information rapidly.
• Ability to work independently as well as demonstrated success in working as part of a team, communicating effectively, working across organizational lines, and achieving impact in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proactive and versatile.
• Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with company financials and budgeting.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications.
• Demonstrated creativity in fashioning solutions and exceptional work ethic and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work under suboptimal conditions and still produce a high quality work product.
• Must be willing and able to travel at very short notice.
