US Climate Action Network is seeking a dynamic International Policy Coordinator. This position includes a variety of programmatic, operational and outreach responsibilities for the implementation and support of our international climate programs requiring specific knowledge and skills.
The successful candidate will be a key team member charged with meeting our organization’s needs, mission and goals.
The primary job responsibility of the Coordinator is to initiate, facilitate and coordinate policy and network member support services at the direction of the Program Director, including: research, writing, briefings, conferences, engagement in advocacy efforts and outreach to allies and constituencies.
Specifically, the Coordinator will:
• Review and synthesize policy reports and papers that provide substantive support for US action on climate policy internationally and domestically, specifically those prepared by US CAN members, for more productive use in campaign and advocacy efforts;
• Prepare factsheets for members and policymakers to use advocating for strong climate policy;
• Provide support to international working group , including tracking US negotiating positions, coordinating community response, spearheading small groups to discuss and develop joint positions;
• Assist in coordination of meetings with the Administration (State Department, Treasury, EPA, etc);
• Prepare briefing materials for members, policy makers and others that are participating in the UN FCCC negotiations;
• Assist in development of Congressional briefings;
• Develop materials to support non-environmental voices in the domestic and international policy process, specifically focused on greater engagement by the business and national security community.
• Collaborate with other staff on various program and operations projects such as conferences, action alerts and other events;
