REDRESS is seeking applications from law graduates and LLM students with a strong background in international law to work on its International and National Standards Programs.
The legal intern will work with REDRESS program staff on a number of assignments, including independent research on implementation of UN Treaty body views, background research for reports and case submissions and other related projects. The focus of the much of the work is likely to be South and South-East Asia.
Qualifications and experience: • A background in public international law, human rights, humanitarian or international criminal law. • Basic criminal law / law of evidence desirable. • Knowledge of the functioning of international human rights treaty body mechanisms an asset. • Good organisational skills. • Strong research skills required. • An interest and background in East and/or South-East Asia an asset.
Time commitment: Full time or part time for a duration to be agreed between the intern and REDRESS (minimum 3 months).
