Litigation Staff Attorney at the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center

Duties: • Help identify laws, policies, and practices which adversely affect clients and challenge such policies.
• Develop relationships with other advocates to devise creative strategies for addressing systemic problems affecting immigrants.
• Represent clients in federal court litigation.
• Litigate federal court cases involving immigrant rights, including arbitrary policies and practices, access to immigration benefits, conditions of immigration detention, habeas petitions challenging indefinite detention, and petitions for review of unlawful removal orders.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 1-3 years experience in federal court practice required, which may include federal court clerkship experience.
• Public interest law experience preferred.
• Excellent writing, research and analytical skills necessary.

Education and Bar Membership: Law degree. Must be licensed to practice law in Florida. Membership in Florida district courts and US Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit preferred.
