Immigration Intern at the International Rescue Committee

Agency Mission:
The International Rescue Committee, founded in 1933, is a leading non-sectarian, non-profit organization providing emergency relief, protection, rehabilitation assistance, resettlement services and advocacy for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. The IRC has operated a Washington, D.C., resettlement office since the 1970’s. Recently, as part of a new Maryland State initiative, IRC shifted its main office to Silver Spring, Maryland, to support a wider geographic base and to expand its support to a growing asylee population. The office resettles over 200 refugees annually and assists over 300 asylees, providing services to refugees and asylees living in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. As a model of one-stop shopping for our resettlement clients and other immigrants, IRC has also established an Immigration Program.
