FIAN International Secretariat (Heidelberg/Germany) is seeking an intern for its Extraterritorial State Obligations (here after ETO) Program to assist in the following tasks:
  • Research into new cases and revision of existing case studies according to ETO standards;
  • Research and communication with ETO consortium members (and civil society organizations) on new case studies from policy fields such as climate, land grabbing, investment regimes, trade, intellectual property rights, transnational corporations, and intergovernmental organizations. Human rights analysis of cases, in particular in these policy fields of extraterritorial obligations will be developed jointly.
  • Preparing internet updates of ongoing ETO work for FIAN website.

    The intern should have a background in international law or human rights law and fluency in English (both written and spoken). A good knowledge of Spanish is an asset.

    The internship will start on September 1, 2012, for a minimum of 6 months.
