International Bar Association Human Rights Institute Internship

ILSA and the International Bar Association (IBA) are pleased to announce a special opportunity for ILSA members.  The IBA currently has one (1) opening for an internship with the IBA Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) from 2 July 2012 – 28 September 2012.  The internship is part of an established intern program which offers invaluable work experience to young lawyers in the field of human rights. The internship is open to current law students and recent law school graduates.  Knowledge of a second language is preferred but not required.

The IBA is the world’s foremost organisation of law societies, bar associations, law firms and individual members, and speaks out on matters affecting the international legal community. IBAHRI focus on the following objectives: the promotion, protection and enforcement of human rights under a just rule of law; the promotion and protection of the independence of the judiciary and of the legal profession worldwide; the worldwide adoption and implementation of standards and instruments regarding human rights accepted and enacted by the community of nations; and the acquisition and dissemination of information concerning issues related to human rights, judicial independence and the rule of law.
