Research and Advocacy Intern at ADDAMEER Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association

International staff members play a central role in Addameer’s operations. Addameer’s Internship Programme provides an opportunity for individuals to gain useful experience by working on the ground with a human rights organisation. Internships are full time, run for a period of three to six months, and are voluntary (unpaid).
Applicants should have a degree in international law, international relations, political science, human rights, or another relevant field. Those with a postgraduate degree are strongly encouraged to apply. Familiarity with the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is essential. The working languages of Addameer are Arabic and English. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is helpful, but not required. Computer literacy and familiarity with word-processing programs is essential. We are also particularly looking for volunteers to help with translating our materials from Arabic & English into other languages.
We are currently accepting applications for internships beginning in April 2011 or later. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Applicants must submit a cover letter and current CV to info@addameer.ps. Please indicate the dates of your envisaged internship. The cover letter should demonstrate your understanding of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and your interest in working specifically for Addameer.
It is recommended that interested candidates submit their application at least three months before the suggested starting date of the internship. Addameer endeavors to inform all candidates of the decision with regards to their application at least two months before the requested starting date of the internship.
