RFK Compass Program Associate at the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights


The Center’s newest initiative, the RFK Compass Program aims to broaden the RFK Center’s mission through education and engagement with the financial community. The program works with institutional investors to advance a discussion of the connections among investment performance, fiduciary duty and the public interest. Components of the program include regional and international conferences, research, fiduciary training and policy work. The Program Associate/Compass Program is a new position, reporting to the Director of the RFK Compass Program, based in the RFK Center’s growing New York office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support RFK Compass Director in development and implementation of Program.
  • Maintain research database of developments in sustainable investing/SRI/ESG.
  • Help identify and work with individuals in investment, academia, public policy and others who might participate in Program events.
  • Research trends and ongoing activity in field. *Follow academic work in the area.
  • Help prepare research reports, articles and presentations for RFK Compass Director and others.
  • Assist with organization and production of conferences, around US and overseas.
  • Maintain database of constituencies and support the development of strong “customer” relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher degree, with a preference for advanced degree in business, economics, social sciences or law.
  • Experience undertaking research related to investment and/or public policy, and communicating findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with field of sustainable/SRI/ESG investing preferred.
  • Experience organizing business meetings/conferences, including with participants who occupy positions of significant responsibility in their companies and institutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented work ethic, with flexibility to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, as well as collaborate on team with members in different cities.
  • Intellectual curiosity, with interest in subjects the Program pursues
  • Computer proficiency in Windows Operating systems and MS Office; knowledge of, and demonstrated efficiency with, relationship-management databases and research databases
