Travel brochures, tourist guides and the internet are popular sources for images that portray a place on the map called Germany. While these can be aesthetically pleasing and intriguing in their own right, we are much more interested in the Germany that is located in the landscape of your intellect and emotions.
To that end we ask you to identify your favorite German word and capture the thoughts, feelings and atmosphere it evokes in a photograph that you take with the purpose in mind of expressing your personal Germany.
The deadline for submissions is May 9, 2011. First prize will receive a round trip ticket to Germany from the U.S. or Canada.
