The Security and Justice Practice Group at BlueLaw International is seeking two Rule of Law Interns for its Alexandria, Virginia office (conveniently located next to the King Street Metro).
These are paid, part-time internships requiring a commitment of 15-20 hours per week starting immediately.
Rule of Law Interns work under the supervision of BlueLaw senior staff to support a variety of short and long term projects on justice and security sector reform, human rights, rule of law promotion.
For example, current projects include the development of resources and tools to strengthen the design and implementation of US funded criminal justice system reform projects focusing on judicial reform and access to justice, police reform, and corrections system assistance in fragile and post-conflict states.
Rule of Law Internships are open to current graduate and law students or recent graduates interested in international development, rule of law promotion, and program management.
Eligibility requirements include: excellent research, writing and analytical skills; strong commitment to international development; and familiarity with database and knowledge management. Program management and international field work experience in addition to relevant coursework in international relations, human rights, development, criminal justice, and public administration are highly desirable but not required
Competitive candidates will have technical writing backgrounds and the ability to format reports and generate graphics in MS Word.
