Research Intern at the International Center for Transitional Justice


The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) a global human rights NGO based in Manhattan, is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2011 Internship Program. Interns will work under the supervision of ICTJ’s regular staff and have the opportunity to learn about the Center’s work in key areas of transitional justice.

The Research Intern will also have the opportunity to enhance his or her research skills by assisting with ICTJ’s current research projects. Candidates should have experience in conducting research (doing bibliographic searches in different database systems, drafting annotated bibliographies, drafting summaries and commenting on papers); editing, formatting, and proofreading various types of documents; and assisting in the organization of meetings. InDesign and Endnote knowledge is desirable. We welcome applications from persons from a wide range of disciplines, including both graduate and undergraduate students. All interns must still be enrolled in a degree program at the time of the internship, and preferably should receive academic credit for their internship. Candidates must also have strong writing and verbal communication skills. Strong writing and verbal communication skills in foreign languages are also desired, but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
